The Science@50 campaign was launched in January 2015, with a year-long calendar of events comprising of seminars, exhibitions & public outreach, which celebrates Singapore’s 50 years of excellence in Science and Technology.
As part of Science@50 celebrations, A*STAR & Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts did a joint collaborative effort to organize “Innovati50n” which showcase top 50 home-grown innovations. Throughout the first half of 2015, NAFA’s art students were guided by researchers & A*STAR’s PR team to create 17 science-inspired exhibits using an array of artistic techniques such as fine art, digital art, photography, sculpture and others.
Innovati50n exhibition was showcased in a mobile truck & made its way to four shopping malls around Singapore: Vivo City (5-6 September), IMM (12-13 September), Century Square (3-4 October), Plaza Singapura (10-11 October), and finally at The Opening of the Fusionopolis 2. The exhibition themed “Science is for everyone” was aimed at the general public. With full-force publicity through radio, advertising & outreach activities, the exhibition was a success and garnered more than 5,000 visitors. Below are some publicity efforts (social media, media buys, advertising). Being part of this project was a lot of fun, I was involved in all aspects: artwork photography, videography for Innovati50n events trailer, produced creative banners/EDMs, boosted publicity & generated buzz through social media marketing efforts. On the ground, I was one of the crews for the exhibit and it was a great time interacting and promoting Innovati50n to the public through this outreach efforts.
