“Pop is everything art hasn’t been for the last two decades. It’s basically a U-turn back to a representational visual communication, moving at a break-away speed…Pop is a re-enlistment in the world…It is the American Dream, optimistic, generous and naïve.”
– Robert Indiana
No matter how you would interpret pop art. It is a major influence in visual communication. You can find influences of Roy Lichtenstein or Keith Haring in any medium. I find much inspiration from those artists. I really enjoy doing a DIY art project or digital installation. All of these artworks or personal projects are my own creation using Adobe software or DIY creative tools!
Illustration has been one my talents. Right from the early age, I have enjoyed sketching of people’s faces, scenes, and buildings. Since then, I have made a transition to digital illustration. Most of my creative artwork includes pop culture figures and icons.
I am inspired by the charismatic aura and talent of celebrities who have made a mark on creating a popular following. Below are the first in the series of digital illustration which is the homage to these popular icons, with a strip poker design-inspired card look.
The above project was done out of sheer fun. I am a Star Wars fan and I wanted to do a DIY art frame which is based on the movie. I actually did a combined vector image of Stormtrooper and a TIE fighter plane. Printed on the glossy art paper, I placed it inside the frame and decorated a line of adhesive LED lights to create an impactful sci-fi look. Totally Rad! I am sure the Force would approve it :).
